What size of menstrual disc to choose?
Choosing the right size of your menstrual disc is essential to ensure comfort, effectiveness, and a good fit for your anatomy. Unlike menstrual cups, discs are not placed in the vaginal canal, but rather positioned under the cervix. Therefore, the size does not depend solely on menstrual flow, but also on factors such as the height of the cervix, the anatomy of each person, age, or whether there have been vaginal births.

At PapayaDisc, we offer two sizes:
Size S (small)
Generally recommended for individuals with a low cervix, under 30 years old, or who have not had vaginal births. Its more compact size can facilitate placement and removal in narrower or more sensitive anatomies.
Size L (large)
Generally recommended for individuals with a high cervix, over 30 years old, or who have had vaginal births. It has a greater capacity, which can be more comfortable for heavy flows or for those who desire more autonomy between emptying.
Important: every body is unique
These recommendations are guidelines and can vary greatly from person to person. There are women under 30 who prefer a size L and women who have had vaginal births who feel more comfortable with a size S.
That’s why, in addition to general recommendations, it is very important to know the position of your cervix and listen to the sensations of your own body.
If you are unsure about the height of your cervix, you can gently explore it during your period:
- If you can easily touch it with your fingertip, you probably have a low cervix.
- If you can barely reach it or cannot touch it, it is likely high.
