Soft and flexible menstrual disc
Your PapayaDisc adapts to you
The menstrual disc from PapayaCup features an innovative design and was developed by women – for the comfort we need.
- A round, smooth, and soft shape for easy and comfortable insertion and removal.
- A long, narrow removal stem with non-slip beads makes taking it out easier. You remove the menstrual disc in a similar way to a tampon – but it's much healthier and more eco-friendly.
- Leak protection to keep everything in place.
Our PapayaDisc is a reusable menstrual disc that sits at the base of the cervix – not in the vaginal canal like a menstrual cup. Unlike the cup, it creates no suction, which means: you can have penetrative sex during your period – comfortably and without complications.

Reusable and eco-friendly, easy to sterilize, and perfect for anyone looking for a healthy and sustainable alternative. Ideal for sensitive skin and for feeling free during your period.

Further information
MATERIAL
Our menstrual disc is made of surgical-grade silicone manufactured in Germany. This type of silicone is commonly used in medical devices due to its durability, heat resistance, and low toxicity. It does not alter the vaginal pH, so it does not cause infections or allergic reactions.
The PapayaDisc – Menstrual Disc:
is biocompatible with body tissue
is hypoallergenic
is suitable for both light and heavy flow
can be worn for 8 to 12 hours
can be used while sleeping
lasts up to 10 years with proper care
is free from toxins and latex
helps prevent vaginal infections such as candida
CARE
Take care of yourself
Do not leave the disc inserted for more than 12 hours without emptying it. Accumulated blood can become a breeding ground for bacteria and increase the risk of TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome).
Sterilize the disc at the beginning of each new cycle before inserting it. During your cycle, it’s enough to empty and rinse it with water before reinserting.
Take care of your disc
Do not sterilize it for more than 3 minutes – longer exposure may damage the silicone.
At the end of each cycle, clean the disc with water and mild soap. You can sterilize it again if you wish, and store it in its fabric pouch.
SHIPPING
Standard mainland shipping takes between 48 and 72 hours, counted from the day the package leaves our warehouse.
RETURNS
Returns are only possible if the menstrual disc has a manufacturing defect. In that case, we will of course cover the return shipping costs.

1. Can using the PapayaDisc menstrual disc have negative effects?
Not at all. Using the menstrual disc is very safe. It’s made of medical-grade silicone – a biocompatible material suitable for contact with the body. However, it’s important to follow the instructions for use, hygiene, and sterilization to ensure a safe and comfortable experience.
2. How do I choose the right size for my menstrual disc?
Our PapayaDisc comes in a double pack with both S and L sizes – so you don’t need to worry about choosing the right one right away. In fact, many women are comfortable using both sizes. For more information, we recommend checking our size chart to find the best fit for you. If you still have questions afterward, feel free to message us in the website chat or email us at info@papayacup.com – we’ll be happy to help.
3. Is the vaginal ring compatible with the menstrual disc?
The vaginal ring releases hormones and stays in the vaginal canal for 21 days. Since the menstrual disc sits in the upper part of the vagina, just below the cervix, it can theoretically be compatible. However, it depends on the size and position of the ring – and our PapayaDisc has a removal stem that may interact with it unpredictably.
That’s why we recommend consulting your gynecologist before using both products at the same time.
5. Does using the menstrual disc prevent pregnancy?
No. The menstrual disc is not a contraceptive. It only collects menstrual blood – it does not prevent fertilization and does not protect against sexually transmitted infections.
6. Is the menstrual disc compatible with an IUD (intrauterine device)?
In most cases, yes. The IUD sits in the uterus, while the menstrual disc is placed in the upper vaginal canal – so they generally don’t interfere with each other. However, if the IUD strings are very long, they might touch the disc. It’s advisable to talk to your doctor about the length of the strings and check whether the PapayaDisc is suitable for you.
7. Can I have sex with the PapayaDisc inserted?
Yes – that’s one of the big advantages of a menstrual disc! However, you should trim the removal stem beforehand.
