PapayaCup adapts to you
The PapayaCup Menstrual Disc has an innovative design, created by women to give us the comfort we need.
- Round, smooth, and soft shape, so the experience of inserting and removing it is great.
- Thin, long removal stem with anti-slip beads, to make it easier to grip when taking the disc out. You remove it just like a tampon—but it’s much healthier and more eco-friendly than a tampon.
- Leak protection, to help you stay clen.
- PapayaDisc is a reusable menstrual disc that sits at the base of the cervix, not in the vaginal canal like a menstrual cup. Unlike the cup, the disc doesn’t create a vacuum seal, which allows for penetrative sex during your period—comfortably and without complications.
PapayaDisc is made from 100% medical-grade silicone – it’s hypoallergenic, BPA-free, latex-free, phthalate-free, and completely non-toxic.
Takes care of your intimate area without altering your pH or causing irritation.
Reusable and eco-friendly, easy to sterilize and perfect for those looking for a healthy and sustainable alternative.
Ideal for sensitive skin, and for feeling free during your period.

MATERIAL
Our menstrual disc is made of medical-grade silicone, manufactured in Germany. This silicone is commonly used in medical devices due to its durability, heat resistance, and low toxicity. It does not alter the vaginal pH and therefore does not cause infections or allergies.
The PapayaDisc – menstrual disc:
- is biocompatible with body tissues
- is hypoallergenic
- suitable for both light and heavy flow
- can be worn for 8 to 12 hours
- can also be used while sleeping
- lasts up to 10 years with proper care
- free from toxins and latex
- helps prevent vaginal infections like candidiasis
Care
Take good care of yourself
Do not leave the disc inserted for more than 12 hours without emptying it. Accumulated blood can become a breeding ground for bacteria and increase the risk of TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome).
Sterilize the disc at the beginning of each new cycle before inserting it.
During your cycle, simply empty and rinse it with water before reinserting.
Take good care of your disc
Do not sterilize it for more than 3 minutes — otherwise, the silicone may become damaged.
At the end of each cycle, clean the disc with water and a mild soap.
You can sterilize it again if you wish, and then store it in its cloth pouch.

1. Can using the PapayaDisc menstrual disc have negative effects?
Not at all. Using a menstrual disc is very safe. It’s made from medical-grade silicone, a biocompatible material suitable for contact with the body. However, it’s important to follow the instructions for use, hygiene, and sterilization to ensure a safe and pleasant experience.
2. How do I choose the right size for my menstrual disc?
Our PapayaDisc comes in a double pack with sizes S and L, so you don’t have to worry about choosing the right size. In fact, many women feel comfortable with both sizes.
For more information, we recommend checking our size guide to find out which option is best for you. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact us via the website chat or by email at info@papayacup.com. We’ll be happy to help.
3. Is the vaginal ring compatible with the menstrual disc?
The vaginal ring releases hormones and stays in the vaginal canal for 21 days. Since the disc is positioned at the top of the vagina, just below the cervix, they can theoretically be compatible. However, this depends on the size and position of the ring, and our PapayaDisc has a tab whose effect cannot be precisely predicted. That’s why we recommend consulting your gynecologist before using both products at the same time.
4. Does using the menstrual disc prevent pregnancy?
No. The menstrual disc is not a contraceptive method. It only collects menstrual flow; it does not prevent fertilization or protect against sexually transmitted infections.
5. Is the disc compatible with an intrauterine device (IUD)?
In most cases, yes. The IUD is located in the uterus, while the menstrual disc sits at the top of the vaginal canal, so they shouldn’t interfere with each other. However, if the IUD strings are very long, they may touch the disc. It’s advisable to consult your doctor about the length of the strings and check whether the PapayaDisc is suitable in your case.
6. Can I have sex while wearing the PapayaDisc?
Yes, that’s one of the great benefits of the menstrual disc! However, you should cut the tab beforehand.
